Biography

Funeral services for Onie Lee Brown, age 98 of Madisonville, are set for 11:00 am., Saturday, July 24 at the West Main Church of Christ. Bro. Waydell Nixon will officiate. Burial will follow in the Midway Southside Cemetery. Madisonville Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Mrs. Brown was born on April 6, 1912 in Midway, Texas to Manual & Sophie (Franklin) Bradley and passed away on Friday, July 16, 2010 at the Madisonville Care Center. She lived all of her life in Madison County and was a member of the West Main Church of Christ. Mrs. Brown enjoyed quilting and gardening. She worked as a cook at several local cafes.

Mrs. Brown was preceded in death by her parents; husband, S.D. Brown and two sons, Will Andrew Brown and S.D. Brown, Jr.

She is survived by two sons, Billy Don Brown & wife, Martha of Houston, Ura Lee Brown of Houston; two daughters, Helen Byrd of Madisonville, Velma Scales of Bedias; eight grandchildren and five great grandchildren.
